Did you ever wonder why you do what you do, are who you are and why you behave in a certain way? Well I did (a lot) and if you do so too, I can strongly recommend to complete this interesting personality test via www.16personalities.com. A friend of mine recently sent it to me via Facebook and usually I’m not that enthusiastic about tests but this one hit the nail on the head.

The test found its roots in two different philosophies. First one is the theory of psychological types by Carl Gustav Jung that is based on basic elements which, when combined together, can be used to describe the difference among people. Secondly there’s the Myers-Briggs type indicator that developed a convenient way to describe the order of each person’s Jungian preferences. The 16personalities test combined the best of both worlds and is built around 5 personality aspects: mind, energy, nature, tactics and identity. When you combine these aspects you get a personality type.

There are 16 different types divided in 4 groups: the diplomats, sentinels, analysts and explorers. I think that even without doing the test it would have been obvious to which type and group I belong. But anyway… now I’m quite very sure I’m a ENFP-A type or campaigner and part of the diplomats. Starting from the first sentence the text kept me focussed which doesn’t happen that often. Of course the positive aspects were nice to read but it actually were the negative once I was really interested in. In general, I do know myself quite well but sometimes seeing it black on white makes you see things in a different perspective.

I explained all of this very very briefly because my intuition tells me that after paragraph one most of you clicked the link to do the test yourself 😉 For those who are still here: If you’re interested in reading more about Jung, Myers-Briggs or both I can assure you there are plenty interesting on-and offline articles to find!

Enjoy 😉
